Hydroxatone Anti-Wrinkle Treatment
Hydroxatone is a 4 step anti-aging system and was created in the late 90's to be an alternative to drasticly painful measures like collagen injections, botox and plastic surgery. It was developed by a plastic surgeon named Dr. Fiorillo, who claims to be co-founder of the Rockland Plastic Surgery Center and Escape Medi Spa.
Hydroxytone sells an anti-aging bundle that consists of four exclusive products. These products are the gentle milky cleanser, balancing toner, AM/PM rejuvenating treatment and Instant Lift Pads. Their primary ingredient list is a proprietary blend of what they call Hydroxatone10 Complex, which consists of Argireline, Matrixyl3000 and Hyaluronic Acid. These 3 ingredients are very popular and they are the main ingredients for quite a few anti-wrinkle creams.

Directions For Using The Hydroxatone 4-Step System
Step 1 - Hydroxatone® Gentle Milky Cleanser: This process is done morning and night. Use about 1 pump and wash your face and neck then rinse thoroughly. At night you need to do this process twice.
Step 2 - Hydroxatone® Balancing Toner: After doing step 1, use one balancing toner pad to apply on face and neck in an upward motion. This is done in the morning and at night.
Step 3 - Hydroxatone® AM/PM Rejuvenating Treatment: After steps 1 and 2, rub cream into your face and neck until thoroughly absorbed. This is done both morning and night.
Step 4 - Hydroxatone® Instant Lift Pads: Every other morning or whenever you want, apply one pad on each problem area. Leave in place for 20 minutes and remove.
Wow! Have you counted how many times a day you will be using this stuff? As you can see, this is a lot of scrubbing, dobbing and smearing! Who has time for all of that? This is not to minimize the effectiveness of Hydroxatone's 4-step program, but we feel that there are much easier to use alternatives out there.
A Look At Hydroxatone's Ingredients
Hydroxatone has a pretty impressive list of active ingredients like Argireline (Acetyl hexapeptide-3), Matrixyl 3000 and Hyaluronic Acid. All three of these ingredients are very good at reducing the signs of aging. However, these ingredients alone will never produce the results you are looking for.
These ingredients may in fact do every thing the manufacturer claims they will, but without certain other ingredients like Deanol (DMAE) you will never get the full gamut of results which you deserve. Deanol actually tightens the muscles in your face to give you the effects of a facelift.
Another serious problem that we see is the fact that there is a lack of focus on antioxidants. You can't just put one antioxidant in a cream and think it will eradicate all of the free radicals in your skin. It takes several antioxidants working together to stop all the different types of free radicals in your skin.
While there may be antioxidants present in the Hydroxatone 4-step system, there is no mention of any mega antioxidants like D3PA, Ubiquinone (Idebenone) or Ascorbyl Palmitate.
Take antioxidant champ Ascorbyl Palmitate, which is basically Vitamin C done right. Unlike L-Ascorbic Acid (another form of Vitamin C), Ascorbyl Palmitate is stable. It can also be mixed into creams and still keep its full potency for months or even years. Many wrinkle cream manufacturers like L-Absorbic Acid, because it is cheap, but it's also very acidic, and can cause severe skin irritation, swelling, redness and inflammation. Ascorbyl Palmitate is very gentle to the skin and has a bunch of other cool attributes like hydrating, pumping up your collagen, lessening splotchy skin to name a few.
The Good Part About Hydroxatone
- Hydroxatone contains Matryxl 3000, Argireline and Hyaluronic Acid. These three ingredients have a good reputation of reducing the signs of aging.
The Bad Part About Hydroxatone
- There are several newer products that are much more effective at reducing the signs of aging.
- Several really important ingredients like DMAE, D3PA, Ubiquinone (Idebenone) or Ascorbyl Palmitate are not in the Hydroxatone 4-step system.
- The Hydroxytone 4-step system is just too time consuming for most people.
The Bottom Line
Hydroxatone has three main ingredients that are known to help reduce the signs of aging. As great as these ingredients are, they will not be as effective due to missing some other key ingredients necessary to do the job right.
Will Hydroxatone do what it claims? Yes, but what they don't tell you is that there are so many more problems that make skin look old.
