Bellaplex Anti-Wrinkle Overview Bellaplex is another really good anti-aging treatment from Urban Nutrition, LLC who makes several other top products like Hydroxatone, Hydrolize and Besoplex. Bellaplex was the first of this series of anti-wrinkle products, and in our opinion, it's one of Urban Nutrition's best anti-wrinkle products.
The Bellaplex plan of attack for wrinkles involves the use of four active ingredients Matrixyl3000, Argireline, Hyaluronic Acid and fresh collagen. The first three ingredients are great, but we have some serious issues with the fresh collagen which can be a health risk.
First of all, the molecules from collagen are too large to penetrate your skin, so it is absolutely pointless to rub it on your skin. Secondly, the sources used for fresh collagen are usually from cow bones or fish. Although the risk would be very low, this opens up the possibility of illnesses like mad cow disease and salmonella.
Editor Note: Here are two links to very informative pages about product ratings and understanding ingredients: Wrinkle Cream Ratings and Anti-Aging Ingredients These two pages give you the ammunition you need to make sense of all the anti-aging confusion.
For starters they could take out the fresh collagen and add several more super ingredients. Bellaplex is already on it's way to being a pretty good anti-wrinkle cream, but with a little more of the right ingredients, they could give LifeCell a run for their money.
The ingredients we would recommend them adding would be Ascorbyl Palmitate, D3PA, Deanol (DMAE) and Idebenone. These ingredients added to Bellaplex would make it the top anti-wrinkle product on the market, but then it would almost be just like a product called LifeCell from South Beach Skincare.
Argireline/AH3 (Acetyl Hexapeptide-3) - This is the ingredient known as the safe botox alternative. AH3 blocks the nerve signals (neurotransmitters) that control the contraction of muscles on your face. The end result is that there is a reduced appearance of wrinkles. However, you don't have the paralysis, toxins or side effects from Botox.
Hyaluronic Acid - This is a key component in hydrating and moisturizing the skin, because of its ability to retain water more effectively than any other natural substance. Supplementation of HA provides increased smoothness, softening, and elasticity to combat facial wrinkles.
Matrixyl3000 - This was designed to encourage collagen production in the skin. In a clinical trial, Matrixyl 3000, the key ingredient in Bellaplex™, achieved the following results:
• 33% decrease in wrinkle density
• 23% decrease in the volume of wrinkles
• 20% decrease in the depth of wrinkles
We are still not sure who paid for this clinical trial and who conducted it. That's very important to know when evaluating clinical studies. If the company that owns Matrixyl3000 paid for the research, we would be very skeptical of the accuracy.
Like any other anti-wrinkle product, you get the impression that you can put it on tonight and look like Hollywood's finest tomorrow. They all make big claims, but the reality is that your anti-aging efforts will be for the rest of your life. You didn't get wrinkles and other signs of aging in one day and you won't get rid of them in one day, either. Realistically, you should give any anti-wrinkle product three to six months before making a decision about trying something else.
Out of all the products that use Matrixyl3000, we think Bellaplex is probably one of the best. However, we are still unsure about the claims of Matrixyl3000. We feel that Bellaplex is a very good product, but by far not the best. LifeCell for example, does everything that Bellaplex does, plus ten times more. Read About LifeCell Here
